Well well, after many days of putty, carving, sanding, priming and starting everything all over again, this is what I came up with:
Her eyes are not definitive as my thin brushes are ruined and I need to find the time to go to the art store to get some more. So I just made a sort of draft to check the color and the general the effect. Any suggestion would be appreciated!
I've been doing this stuff for years and only recently learned a cool trick:
ReplyDeleteUSE A .3mm mechanical pencil. They are used for drafting. Draw test eyes in first and once you find a design you like, fill it in with paint.
I think your eyes are looking pretty good, and once you finish her up, they should be just fine.
Be well!
Thanks for your advice Bob!
ReplyDeleteActually, that's what I did, and I think I found a design that matches pretty much Tessa's eyes from the anime. But since my brushes are ruined I couldn't get thin, even lines. The important thing is that now I know how I want them... I love painting eyes, that's when you blow life into the model!
Thanks for your compliments too! (^_^)
A couple dudes in the forum like to use toothpicks for those fine lines. Have you ever tried that?
ReplyDeleteI sometimes use metal pins... pretty much the same but thinner. Although I prefer to use Micron Pens, except after a while they stop working! <_<
